Improved Document Handling
Hazel can now read content from more files than before. Using on-the-fly text recognition, Hazel can read text from non-OCRed PDFs and image files. In addition, Hazel can read from encrypted PDFs if you supply a password. Passwords are securely stored in your keychain.
Revert Files
You can now undo changes to files. If you find a file is not where you wanted Hazel to put it, right-click on it in Finder and select Revert. Hazel will return the file to its original position with its original name and even revert properties like tags and comments. Just remember to fix your rules so that it doesn’t re-file them again.
List Attributes
A new addition to Hazel’s powerful matching engine is Custom List Attributes. Using these, you can capture lists of items, such as tags. You can set up rules to copy tags from one item (like a parent folder) and apply it to a file.
…and more
Hazel 6 contains numerous other improvements throughout as well as Sequoia (macOS 15) support.
