Warning: CleanMyMac is causing trouble with Hazel

Talk, speculate, discuss, pontificate. As long as it pertains to Hazel.

So, I am using Hazel on a pretty important Mac that watches SEVERAL folders that are attached via SMB networking (Windows shares).

After some days or even weeks I ran into the issue that some folder rules simply stopped working.

The log files showed that Hazel apparently just stopped watching those bespoke folders. Which folders, that seemed random. A reboot of the Mac always fixed it.

Anyhow, I just had the Mac running successfully for weeks again and right after I used MacPaw's CleanMyMac X, a colleague told me that the automatic renaming in his work folder stopped working.

Ooops!

I had been sending quite a few support emails with our chief noodler in here  and it was hard to track down this issue. But maybe, just MAYBE, we found the culprit.

Additional info: The only feature of CleanMyMac that I used at that moment was the uninstall app feature. Maybe it can help to find/circumvent the problem.

Thanks for reading!
So, please, use caution
